Programming scripts

Nothing, just a link to my GitHub repository.

I’m not a professional software engineer. Yet, I still have to write a lot of not-so-fancy and not-so-sophisticated programming scripts to analyze my data. I mainly use Python, occasionally MATLAB, and very rarely R (only for very simple statistical analyses).

Debugging is not fun. But finally identifying and terminating a bug gives me a sense of achievement. In comparison to writing up the manuscript for a journal article, I actually enjoy programming more. While programming, I know my petty technical problems at hand must be solvable. Of course, that’s because I’m not a software engineer engaged in cutting-edge R&D projects. Nonetheless, I still like finding the solution to a known problem more than motivating and discussing my research project in a journal article.

Once in a while, I upload the scripts related to a particular research project. However, to respect confidentiality, usually I can’t publicly share the associated research data. Also, I may sometimes forget to include some spreadsheet or accessory files due to a housekeeping error. If you’re trying to run my scripts and they complain about some missing files, please let me know. I should be able to share them privately with you.
