This internal presentation was part of my PhD work in Dr. Hsiao-Wen Chung’s lab, where I explored the construction of a Chinese coh-matrix. This took place well before the current boom of AI. Through this project, I gained a foundational understanding of how linear algebra underlies latent semantic analysis (LSA) and natural language processing (NLP) in general. Since the work involved cross-linguistic comparisons between English and Chinese coh-matrices, the slides include both English and Chinese text.
